Taryn McDonald, DVM

She was fortunate to move with her family to Switzerland at a young age, which inspired her love of travel, chocolate, and cows. At the age of seven, she and her family moved to Marietta, Georgia, with their family dog, Nitro. One muggy summer afternoon the family realized Nitro wasn’t acting right and rushed him to an emergency vet. Later in life, the veterinarian who saved Nitro became Dr. McDonald’s first employer in the veterinary industry. This is where she realized that her true calling was to become a veterinarian.

Dr. McDonald pursued her pre-veterinary education at Berry College, where she met her wife. They attended the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine together. She has been practicing small animal veterinary medicine since 2014 and has a special interest in gastrointestinal illnesses, dental disease, and Fear Free handling for nervous kitties. Dr. McDonald lives with her wife, son, three cats, and two dogs in Acworth and enjoys woodworking and listening to audiobooks. Most of all, she is excited to assist and care for your kitties’ needs.
