Community Cat Clinic’s goal is to make your visit fear-free and comfortable for you and your furry family member, and our committed team will do everything possible to make sure that happens. When you schedule your appointment, we discuss each step of our process and offer advice on transporting your kitty, the best type of carrier to use, and if pre-visit drugs are needed. (We prefer you use this top-loading and front-loading cat carrier by Petmate.) Whenever possible, we offer the option to stay with your cat throughout the treatment process.
Medical Care Philosophy
Community Cat Clinic recognizes that the increasing cost of care combined with the severe shortage of veterinary professionals is causing significant challenges for pet owners. The shortage of skilled vets for cats also means many clinics are not accepting new clients or are not able to schedule new appointments for weeks or months – unacceptable situations when your feline family member is sick or injured. The cost of care is on the rise, too, as prices for supplies and equipment increase. Such pressures put vet care beyond the reach of many families. We believe that everyone should be able to include a pet in their family. We have designed our practice model to assist as many patients as possible, maintain affordable costs, and provide access to care for anyone who needs it.
Community Cat Clinic operates under the concept of incremental veterinary care, a “patient-centered, evidence-based (approach) that provides good outcomes for pets belonging to owners with limited resources.” That way, our clients can choose from a variety of treatment options that preserve the health of their cat while also taking financial limitations into account.
Our team of Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) are our clients’ main point of contact throughout their visit. They take notes on your cat’s medical history, review any recent symptoms you’ve noticed, consult with our expert cat doctors about any necessary diagnostics and treatment options, then present several potential care plans based on your budget. Our cat veterinarians oversee every step of the process and, when appropriate, work directly with your family to decide on the most effective yet affordable plan for your cat’s care. This team approach means we can help as many patients as possible and in a timely manner.
